No, all I really remember reading is he probably came from some Norman migratory wave. It just sort of ends with that.

Very nice, Ed. I enjoyed reading this. When I was a young teen (pre-driver's license), I explored a number of smaller creeks in Hatfield and Hilltown townships in much the same manner. Lots of walking and wading, with occasional swims thrown in for good measure. As you say, most of them today have become sewers and/or storm drain paths. What a shame. I remember finding skinks and salamanders and big fat bullfrogs along them, but they're all gone now.

Enjoyed your story. I'm from another branch of the Hertzog tree dating from 1738 - Philip Hertzog, Zweibruken. He built the first church in Old Zionsville outside of Emmaus, PA.

Thanks for the great review of your trip to Havre de Grace. I've lived here about 12 years and love it. I always tell people... I don't have a favorite restaurant. I have a favorite at EVERY restaurant.

I hope you'll keep up with the happenings via my website, and return often.

Warmly, Ellie

Ed --

You should be able to get some tie-down straps with little ratchet thingies that will secure the boat to the roof rack. I used to use such straps to haul ladders on a roof rack on my old Datsun station wagon.

BTW, who is John Galt?

Cheers -- Wayne
