Kate and I attended a “get out the vote” rally at the Philadelphia Convention Center for Michael Nutter yesterday. He’s seeking the Democratic nomination as candidate for mayor in November, 2007. Given the 4 to 1 voter registration ratio of Democrats to Republicans in Philly, the Democratic nominee is basically the winner. Whomever wins on Tuesday will be the next mayor. Its pretty much guaranteed. Every time.
We’re pretty excited about the fact that the last poll released earlier in the week had him leading 10% above the 2nd place of 5 candidates. Given the nature of machine politics here, nothing is certain, but we’ve certainly got our fingers crossed and campaign posters in the windows.
